This question was asked of me refering to adopting our 7th child (Jaidyn, 3rd from China).
I would like to think that the person meant well, but the negative conotation is there and it peirced my heart. I just responded pretty genericly I am sure, but I wish that I responded more honestly.
So...what are we thinking?? Let me sum it up for you,
1.That this little girl deserves to grow up with a Mommy and Daddy and not in an institution.
2. She has been in an orphanage too long.
3. She has watched her best friends and sisters get adopted and leave her.
4. We have known about her in particular since 2007
5. We have seen pictures of her since 2007 and heard our daughter Jordyn talk about her since that time.
6. We have heard Jailynn talk about her since 2009 and seen more pictures of her.
7. She needs us and her sisters.
8. I have been praying for her since 2007 to have a forever Mommy and Daddy.
9. God calls ALL Christians to Care for the orphan and widow.
10. SHE IS OUR DAUGHTER,
11. She derves to be as happy as her sisters.
12. She deserves to learn how to ride a bike, rollerskate, learn to play, learn to swim, and play with her puppy. She deserves to know love and happiness and to have all of her firsts.
13. She is an Orphan No More!
14. Her Mommy, Daddy, Sisters and Brothers are waiting anxiously to Bring her home.
That is just a few of the reasons.
There are 147 million orphans longing for the love of a mother and father. Longing for a place to call home in America, in China, in Africa, and many other countries. I cannot pretend that I don't know about them, I cannot look the other way. So I am doing what I can and stepping out to bring one more child home. How I wish that other Chrisitans would catch the vision. That they would feel the joy and happiness it brings. To realize that the blessing is in the doing. See, I hate it when people tell me that my adopted children are blessed to have me as a mother because that is nthe truth. The truth is that I am blessed to have them as my children, that I feel such overwhelming joy and happiness to just sit and watch them pla, hear them talk, and feel th hugs and kisses. I love everything about being thier mom and it is a miracle to me that I have them as my daughters.I just can't n describe it in words except to say that adopting is worth every moment of the journey and I am proud to have the honor of being Jordyn, Jailynn, Jaidyn, and Noah adoptive Mother, and Blessed beyond words.
